Founded by a Haitian-American esthetician and certified formulator, Beautélanin merges ancestral botanical wisdom with modern, barrier-safe formulation. Every product, every ritual, and every treatment is crafted to respect the biology of melanin, not erase it.

Judith Pluviose is not your typical beauty founder.
She is a certified skincare formulator, an esthetician in training, and a licensed attorney who has walked through courtrooms, classrooms, and clinics—dissecting the systems that were never built for us.

Rooted in her Haitian ancestry and armed with scientific precision, Judith founded Beautélanin Skincare to answer a question the industry never dared to ask:

What does it mean to care for Black skin—not with fear, but with reverence?

Her proprietary science system, NoirActive™, is her rebellion against ingredient erasure, barrier trauma, and the marketing that commodifies melanin while refusing to understand it. It is not a trend. It is a return to what was sacred before colonized skincare told us we were a complication.

She is the author of The Skin They Forgot to Teach, and a rising voice in the movement to decolonize esthetics education and dismantle skin pseudoscience from the inside out. Through essays, rituals, and refusals, Judith is redefining what skincare means for people who have always been misdiagnosed, misunderstood, and missing from the curriculum.
